Before and Afters!

Here I am when I started this journey on July 27, 2015. Not too sexy…

This is me on my third week. I didn't lose much but I toned up a lot!

My 21 Day Journey

Hi all!

I'm going to use this blog mainly to share my experience with the 21 Day Fix by Beachbody and to share some recipes that I love. Feel free to comment or leave recipes of your own. Losing weight is hard so we need all the help we can get!

I started this journey on July 27, 2015 and I'm just starting my second round. My goal was to lose weight for my wedding in May, 2016. I wasn't that overweight but I obviously wanted to look my best. I was the heaviest I'd ever been and didn't feel comfortable in my skin and didn't want to have to look at myself in our wedding photos for the rest of my life. I had a few friends that were doing the 21 Day Fix and it sounded intriguing. I was obviously skeptical at first. Most weight loss programs are just scams but after seeing their before and after photos I just had to get it. It was actually very easy to follow. The meal plan takes a little getting used to but I loved how I felt just by cutting junk out of my diet. I started sleeping better and I had a lot more energy. I was always a coffee addict and I honestly haven't had a cup or a craving since I started. My hair and skin were getting healthier. The workouts were intense at first. I was sore for the first week but I struggled through it. There's a girl you can follow if you need to modify anything and we became besties lol. They got easier though the more I did them and the stronger I got. I don't have to modify anything anymore. There's also an option to double your workouts if you want to challenge yourself. I started following that schedule for my third week. It really wasn't bad! It was definitely challenging but doable. I split them up so I did one workout in the morning and one after work so I wasn't killing my body all at once. I feel so much stronger now. It's just so rewarding to be able to do the things you couldn't do week one. I legit laughed when Autumn said we were going to do burpees. Ya you're funny Autumn. Hells no we aren't! I actually enjoy them now lol. They're still hard and I have to take a break every so often to breath but soon I'm going to be powering through them.

I just bought the Cize program and Shakeology so I'm adding those to this round. I tried the Cize the other day and it seems like it's going to be a lot of fun! It was a little challenging. I have no rhythm but I don't mind making a fool out of myself every once in a while lol. And I really didn't feel like I was working out. I was sweating but I was having fun. He breaks it down for you too so you really learn all the moves. I'm going to be breaking it down at my wedding! And I'm obsessed with my Shakeology! I've been having it for breakfast the past few days and I just feel amazing the rest of the day. It tastes good and it's good for you too. I was super skeptical since it's so expensive and you can buy protein powder anywhere for a third of the price. I got it in my coach starter pack so I didn't have much to lose. It's literally the best thing ever. I've tried tons of protein powders and they were always gritty or made me sick. I can't have dairy which includes whey protein which is what most protein powders are made from. So I could have them but I'd have to take Lactaid every time and that gets pricey. I didn't want to try the Shakeology because I knew it was made from whey protein but after doing some research I found out that it also contain lactase which is the enzyme my body is lacking. Woo! Ya it's expensive but now I can save money on Lactaid. And then I needed to get over the fear that it was going to be gritty and gross. Guess what? It's not. It's just like drinking a real milkshake. I like to mix mine with other ingredients. I've done strawberry banana, strawberry mango, chocolate and banana, and chocolate and peanut butter. It's sooooo good. It's really like having a dessert but it's good for you. There are so many recipes out there too so you can never run out of combinations. I will post a few on here and you can too if you want.

I honestly love Beachbody and their weight loss programs. I was skeptical at first, but after trying them for a month, I'm sold. There isn't one thing I would change about them. I feel great and I look great. Which is why I decided to be a coach. So many people want to lose weight but can't follow all these confusing diets or workouts. It's hard to find time to go to a gym and workout too. I went to the gym before I started this but I never had the motivation to push myself and I always just ended up on the elliptical because it's all I knew how to do. And I know I'm not alone on that one! The 21 Day Fix gives you everything you need to be successful though. You get all your color coded containers to make portioning thoughtless. Honestly the hardest part of the meal plan is trying to eat enough. I don't get that hungry throughout the day but you have to hit your caloric intake in order to build muscle. You also get 2 DVDs for your workouts. They are 30 minutes each and then there's a 10 minute ab workout as an added bonus. Like I said, they are challenging, but not because you don't know how to do something. Autumn breaks it all down for you so you know exactly what you need to do. And you can modify anything if you can't do something. You want to push yourself but not hurt yourself so ease into it if you have to. Really all you need to get yourself is some weights and a yoga mat if you want. They use a set of light weights and heavy weights so you can challenge yourself or go easy if you have to. You can use anything around the house though if you don't have weights. I've heard of people using cans of veggies or coins or whatever you can find. A child maybe. You can start off without weights too and build up to that. There's really no rules with the workouts. Do what you can and push yourself but know your limits. I like to add the 10 minute abs to my workouts as well as a little bonus exercise. It's just an easy and amazing program to follow. They know every excuse people use to not lose weight and they have an answer to it. Mine was lack of motivation and knowledge and they blew that right out of the water. I have a coach and a team of people that motivate me and push me. We all share recipes and new workouts. Once you join Beachbody you really join a family. Everyone has the same goals as you and they will help you achieve it. You're out of excuses really so if you're ready to get serious about reaching your weight goals, let me help you. We'll get you there together. Comment below if you want more information.
